"Final Farewells"
In the month of September 1999 during the debate over the proposed demolition of the old arena, I felt it was necessary to capture one of our most historical landmarks on canvas. The timing was very important, as it had to be painted on location. Fortunately I was able to finish it before the implosion. The moment she came down, it was at that time I placed my signature in the lower left hand corner. As I reminisce, the memories are still fresh in my mind. "Final Farewells" was unveiled shortly afterwards at a St. Louis Blues hockey game, where I was fortunate to share the unveiling with thousands of hockey fans, along with coverage from our local news media.
